The Immigrant Legal Services Center will once again institute a summertime modified schedule for service provision.
During this modified schedule, our staff will treat the first two weeks (6/8-6/19) of summer and the week before the new academic year (week of 9/14) as administrative casework time. This means that during those three weeks attorneys will be taking appointments only for priority inquiries, where the student or immediate family member is: 1. Seeking assistance for a DACA renewal or advance parole; 2. Facing a deadline, "age out" (about to turn 21), or other time-sensitive issue; 3. In immigration detention; or 4. A client with an existing case for which we have already signed a retainer agreement. During the other summer weeks, staff will continue to offer consultations for new cases in line with their capacity. Existing appointments will be honored.
Modifying schedules in the summer allows our attorneys to complete their AY 2025-26 cases prior to Fall, after which we, like you all, encounter an influx of new incoming students.
